The Romanian Librarians Association (ABR – abr-ro.ro/en), in collaboration with the Transilvania University, the “George Bariţiu” County Library, and their partners have the high pleasure of inviting you to participate to the 36th edition of THE National Conference of the Romanian Library Association, with the title “THE GLOBAL LIBRARY: OPEN ACCESS, COLLABORATION SPACE, AND INTELLECTUAL AND EMOTIONAL REFUGE”. The Conference will take place between September 1st-4th 2026 in Brașov, Romania. The Official Opening will be held on September 2nd, 2026 in the Aula Magna of the Transilvania University in Brașov.
Ther conference will be preceded, on September 1, 2026, by the event organized by Softlink Central Europe, which continues the tradition of meetings dedicated to professional dialogue with librarians in Romania. The theme of this event is: “Three Decades Alongside Librarians in Romania – From Dialogue to Solutions: The Launch of the Libriverse Product Line”. The full program and details regarding participation will be communicated later by the organizers.
In a context marked by accelerated technological changes, the expansion of open access to information and knowledge and the redefinition of the role of libraries in society, this scientific event will bring together librarians and specialists from all types of libraries in Romania, to reflect on how infodocumentary structures can become global spaces of information, collaboration, inclusion and support for communities. The presence of guests from the international academic and professional environment will bring valuable perspectives and opportunities to connect to current trends and practices in the field. In this sense, we want a real dialogue between librarians, collaborators, readers and the community. The conference will be held in a hybrid format and will benefit from a registration platform, containing all the necessary information.
We are convinced that your presence at the opening ceremony and proceedings of the Conference will offer an added value to the event, as well as a development of inter-institutional relations and long-term partnerships.
Looking forward to hearing from you, we assure you of our high consideration.
Dr. Carmen-Leocadia Pesantez Pozo
President of The Romanian Library Association
