Documentary trip to Zărnești
The documentary trip to Zărnești will take place on Friday, September 4th, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. It will include a diverse program with cultural and educational objectives, as well as hiking options for those who wish to discover the natural beauty of the area.
Trip Program:
9:00 AM - Departure from Brașov, "Transilvania" University Library
- Working visit to the "Malaxa" Technological High School, Zărnești
With roots dating back to 1939, when the Rogifer factories established an apprentice school here, the high school has grown over the decades alongside the local industry, becoming today one of the representative technological education institutions for the town of Zărnești.
- Round table at the CDI (Information and Documentation Center), "Metropolitan Ioan Mețianu" Theoretical High School, Zărnești
A conducive setting for the exchange of ideas and best practices among librarians and teaching staff, in a space dedicated to student information and documentation.
- Visit to the Piatra Craiului National Park Museum
Opened in 2016, approximately 1 km from Zărnești on the road towards Plaiul Foii, the center is designed as an interactive museum, featuring 3D models, a traditional sheepfold, and an artificial cave, through which visitors discover the flora, fauna, and geology of the impressive Piatra Craiului massif.

Zărnești Gorges
Also known as the Zărnești Cliffs, these limestone gorges were formed by the action of water eroding the rocks and carving a narrow defile with vertical walls reaching 100–200 m in height. The easily accessible trail trail offers spectacular landscapes and the chance to spot chamois on the cliffs.

Plaiul Foii
About 12 km from Zărnești, on the Bârsa Valley, Plaiul Foii is a picturesque area at the foot of the Piatra Craiului massif, serving as an access point to mountain trails and to Colțul Chiliilor, an old Orthodox hermitage carved under the rock.
Opțional: For participants who do not wish to hike, a tour of the town's cultural and tourist attractions is available.
