
Ana-Maria Bușoniu is the General Director of Intermediate Body for the Promotion of the Information Society, within the Romanian Digitalization Authority, starting October 2021. Mrs. Ana-Maria Bușoniu began her career in the management of European funds in 2014 at the Ministry of Investments and European Projects, where she was involved in programming and evaluation activities within the Management Authority for the Large Infrastructure Operational Program.
In 2017, she was the coordinator of the System Coordination Directorate at the Ministry of Investments and European Projects. Subsequently, as Deputy General Director of the Human Capital Operational Program and General Director of the Competitiveness Operational Program, she was involved in negotiations with the European Commission services regarding both the European Social Fund and the Regional Development Fund. One of her main objectives during this period was to support investments by simplifying mechanisms and ensuring management that would lead to increased absorption of structural funds.
In 2019, she was appointed State Secretary within the same ministry, overseeing the implementation of the European Fund for Supporting Disadvantaged Persons, the Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norwegian Grants, as well as liaising with the Parliament. Later, she worked at the Presidential Administration within the Department of Education and Research.
